Mr. Christopher AgostinoMr. Agostino joined Bay Shore Schools as Director of Athletics, Physical Education, and Health in 2021. In this role, he is committed to providing students with meaningful learning experiences and quality athletic opportunities that will develop the skills, knowledge, understanding, and appreciation needed to maintain lifelong healthy behaviors and attitudes.


After starting his career as a second-grade teacher in 2000, Mr. Agostino taught physical education for the next 14 years before becoming a school administrator in 2015. Mr. Agostino coached varsity boys basketball and led his Harborfields team to the State Championship in 2012. In recognition of his successful tenure as a varsity coach, Mr. Agostino was inducted as a member of the 2020 class of the NYS Basketball Hall of Fame.


Before coming to Bay Shore, Mr. Agostino’s leadership experience included serving as Athletic Director and Chairperson of Physical Education and Health at Elmont High School in the Sewanhaka School District in Nassau County. In this role, Mr. Agostino supervised the physical education and health program in grades 7-12, managed and expanded the athletic program, enhanced community connections, and established the Athletics Hall of Fame.


Mr. Agostino earned a B.S. in Childhood Education from Long Island University and an M.A. in Physical Education from Adelphi University. Mr. Agostino also received a second M.A. in Educational Leadership from LIU and is recognized as a national board Certified Athletic Administrator by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.
