Dr. Michelle Garrett
joined the Bay Shore Middle School as a guidance counselor in January 2002. After three and a half years, she spent the following year as a high school counselor before becoming the Instructional Supervisor. Prior to her employment in Bay Shore, Ms. Garrett taught mathematics in Astoria, Queens after five years of employment with Charlies Schwab & Co. as an investment specialist. She holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership from St. John's University, M.S. in School Counseling (L.I.U.), B.S. in Finance (C.W. Post/L.I.U.) and School District Administrator Certification from Stony Brook University. Dr. Garrett believes that all students can be successful given a positive learning environment that encourages creativity, values diversity, and holds all students to high expectations.
